About AICMAR

AICMAR is a resource for evangelical scholars and church leaders, providing opportunities for advanced biblical and theological research, encouraging the study and debate of contemporary African issues, and offering training in biblical expository preaching and other ministry skills.

Although located in Butere (Western Kenya), AICMAR aims to serve the academic and spiritual needs of African theological colleges, churches and church leadership beyond national borders.

AICMAR works inter-denominationally from an evangelical standpoint. It is willing to co-operate and share resources (including staff, library and facilities) with any other organisation pursuing similar goals. It does not duplicate the work of other institutions, or compete against them!

AICMAR’s main building, the Chadwick Library, houses the library and, as well as the main library, includes a Reading Room, Serminar Room, Computer Room, Archives Room, and the West Kenya Library, and also a Christian bookshop. Additionally the Eshimuli Guest House next door (run by the ACK Diocese of Butere) provides accommodation for conferences and and resident scholars.
