The Chadwick Library is a quality dedicated theological library in West Kenya stocking a growing collection (currently over 8,000 volumes) of the best in biblical studies, theology, contemporary African issues, and Christian ministry.
Our resources include:
- Post-graduate level volumes for those undertaking research, including a growing selection of theses and dissertations from African universities in biblical and mission subject areas.
- Over 1,300 academic journals, with current subscriptions to 50 journals in the fields of Biblical studies, theology, evangelism, African studies, mission and development.
- Bible commentaries and dictionaries, with up to 50 different commentaries available on each book of the Bible, ranging from popular level works through to commentaries on the Greek or Hebrew text.
A large number of volumes are available on subjects including Christian Doctrine, Theology, Biblical Hermeneutics, Homiletics, Pastoralia, Mission and Evangelism, Church History, and Christian Ethics. In addition, we are building a collection of West Kenya study books and local archives.
The library stocks a significant collection of African authored material, and continuous efforts are being made to obtain relevant acquisitions with an emphasis on African and evangelical scholarship. To enable continued growth, in 2004 the library moved into a new dedicated building capable of housing 30,000 volumes, together with the library’s electronic resources.
