Preaching programmes
Our Vision
The Preaching Programmes at AICMAR stem from the conviction that God speaks powerfully through his Word, by his Spirit. We believe that when the Bible is preached faithfully today, God’s voice is heard. As believers hear and follow God’s Word, the church flourishes and grows in maturity. This is both our vision and our prayer for the churches in Africa.
The focus of our work is to equip those in Christian ministry with the tools to better understand and teach God’s Word to others. We provide training for anyone engaged in Bible teaching ministry, to equip and encourage them in the privileged but demanding work of preaching.
Our Preaching Programmes are…
- Available – to anyone in Bible teaching ministry, from any denomination.
- Accessible – flexible in length and location to suit the participants. We welcome invitations to work in new locations.
- Affordable – we keep costs as low as possible.
Our Preaching Programmes
Annual School of Preaching (ASP)
Our major three-day conference held each November, repeated at different locations across Kenya.
- ASP Level 1 covers topics such as ‘What is the Bible?’, ‘How do I understand the Bible?’ and ‘How do I preach the Bible?’
- ASP Level 2 addresses how to preach from different parts of the Bible, such as Old Testament Prophets, New Testament Letters… and many more.
Preaching Courses
We offer short courses in how to understand the Bible and teach it to others. Courses are flexible and can be run either as an intensive week or as a series of day/half-day events. One day events are also possible.
Preaching for Preachers
A regular Bible exposition given for preachers. We discuss a Bible text together and then listen to an example of a sermon on that passage.
Preaching Workshops
In these workshops, members present an outline of a sermon to a small group (led by a facilitator) and receive constructive feedback.
